Cocaine trafficking lands Richland County man 25-year sentence
October 21, 2026
A Richland County jury convicted Dorian Allen of trafficking cocaine 400 grams or more on Oct. 15. The Honorable Heath Taylor sentenced Allen to 25 years in a South Carolina Department of Corrections facility.
On Oct. 4, 2022, a Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) deputy pulled Allen over for running a stop sign. As deputies approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, they noticed indications of recent marijuana use. Deputies found a small amount of marijuana in Allen’s possession and searched the car. Under the driver’s side floorboard, law enforcement found over a kilogram of cocaine.
Allen fled the scene, prompting a brief foot chase before deputies detained him.
Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office Assistant Solicitors Nick Fowler and Sam McGlothin led the prosecution. RCSD Sgt. Morgan Smith investigated the case.
